One of the places I love to take one of my Iowa vacations at is Nine Eagles state park just a few miles north of the Missouri border. There is an excellent campground there with all the expected niceties such as a shower house with hot running water. It is within easy distance of two excellent fishing lakes as well as having a small lake inside the park. The only problem I have ever had there was self induced. You see I left my cleaned fish in a cooler outside of the tent and the raccoons came by in the middle of the night and devoured each and every one of them.
