You would think that a company with over 4000 employees would be on top of staffing requirements. When I approached the department to secure leave of absence I was told that current staff levels would not permit my request. The company just spent hundreds of thousands of dollars upgrading its human resources system so I would have thought they would have had this all sorted out. Thankfully I had not booked my holiday. I have had to reschedule my plans with the hope of taking off later in the year. The only problem is that the weather might not be as good as I had anticipated.
