Some people are not brave enough to ask their tax questions. In fact, you do not have to be brave at all to ask tax questions. Nothing is going to happen when you ask tax questions, even if you ask the IRS directly.
If you are really worried, then just call the IRS up and ask anonymously. You do not have to give your name or social security number to the IRS over the phone so the IRS cannot identify who you are.
You will be safe and it is likely that nothing you say will make the IRS think that you may not be paying taxes.
