The US Armed Forces is one of the most important government branches that receives huge budget each year. The need for better and advanced fighting equipment is where a big percentage of this budget goes to. The rest are divided to support military programs, development and military benefits.
Aside from basic pay, a certain US military receives also monthly allowances that include Basic Allowance for Housing, Overseas Housing Allowance (for active members who are stationed overseas), Food Allowances, CONUS (Continental United States) COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment), Hardship Duty Pay, Clothing Allowance as well as Dislocation Allowance and other benefits imposed by the law.
