My husband and I wanted to build a log cabin, but we just didn’t have the money to do so. We decided to remodel our existing home instead. We have always loved log cabins because of their natural and rustic look. When it came time to replace the siding on our home, we used barnwood siding for a rustic look. After the project was complete, I was glad we didn’t sell our home and build a log cabin. I love the natural and rustic look that the barnwood siding has given to our home.

Janies dog health questions - hysterical!

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Janie, our daughter, is one of the funniest people I know. At the ripe old age of four she keeps me, and anyone else within ear shot, laughing all the time. Most recently she has started getting really concerned about our dog Charlie. She is convinced that he has something wrong with him and insists on finding out the problem. According to Janie, Charlie isn’t barking enough and she wants to know who can help her with her dog health questions. She has literally pulled out her doctors kit in an attempt to “fix” Charlie and his barking dilemma. When I asked Janie why it was so important for him to bark she very matter of factly stated, “barking is how Charlie talks, if he doesn’t bark how will I know what he wants”.

remembering furniture Sydney modeled

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

I was recently on a business trip in Australia. I was away for several months, long enough to be very tired of the inside of motels. One of my favorite memories of my trip was when I was invited to stay overnight at the home of one of my business colleagues, in Sydney. I was astonished at the modern and beautiful furniture Sydney had to offer. After the hotels I had been staying in, I had expected more of the same. Instead, I found furniture to delight my senses. It was beautiful, functional, and even comfortable! What a treat that stay was.

Future financial security

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

I know that for several years now, I have been looking for a way to be able to afford my, and my wife’s dream of being able to travel around the world.
I found that buying an investment property would give me the financial needs to be able to travel. It would seem that investing in a property is a great way for my wife and I to be financially stable for other future events that might occur at some point in our lives. By buying property and investing with in it was a route for our future financial security.

teen babysitter

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Having a baby is a gift beyond compare because it brings unexplainable joy to your heart hence you have to make it sure that you give the necessary care that your baby needs. However, for working moms, they find it difficult to give more time for their babies– of course they cannot bring with them their babies in their workplace. Thus, many working moms consider the option of hiring a babysitter. Some are in fact, employing a teen babysitter. If you are one of them, you have to be careful always when hiring. You have to make it sure that the baby sitter you are to employ is capable of doing baby care in your behalf.

Summer To Do

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

My summer has not even started but I already have a plan for yard work and design. Every year I pick a certain area on my home I have lived in for three years and do something new. The last three years we have been working on the front yard, so it is finally time to tackle the back yard. My projects this summer include adding outdoor flooring to my patio, building a garden, building a shed, and adding a flower bed with edger to my back yard. Of course I cannot do this all alone, my husband usually is the main laborer but I like to help out. I love having a plan every summer and at the end of the summer we always feel so accomplished.

Choosing Your Home Security Products

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

What is the best home security products for my home? I often see myself asking this question. I want to get the most protection for my house without going overboard. The products that are available today range in so many different categories it is hard to know what I need. I guess I could start small and then work my way up. If you have a smaller house an alarm will do just fine for now. Make sure you have good locks on the doors and windows, and the alarm system is installed correctly. Having the basics gives you a sense of security without breaking the bank.

Christian single mothers

Monday, June 30th, 2008

There are more and more single mothers out in the world today, including christian single mothers. Just in my family alone, there are about 4 of my cousins who are single mothers making it on their own. They all belong to the same church community and get together for weekly prayer readings and allow for their children to attend bible study together. Their faith has been a major factor in keeping them happy and motivated to do what it takes to provide for a stable and loving home for their children. They all support each other and help each other any way they can. They are truly a great group of women, and I admire them for all that they are doing.

Great Small Bathtubs

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Although Small Bathtubs aren’t great for soaking in or lying down they do have their charms. If you have a very small bathroom a normal sized bathtub can consume the entire real-estate of the room making the room feel much smaller than it is and it can also make it difficult to use the other facilities in the bathroom such as the toilet and sink. Can you imagine banking your knees on the bathtub every time you use the toilet or turning around only to stub your toe on the bath when you turn around and reach for a towel? This would be very uncomfortable and inconvenient.

So very confused.

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

I find that shopping for womens sweaters is very confusing to men, or at least for this man. No matter which sweater I buy and present to my wife she will tell me in minute detail why it isn’t a good sweater. Either it is the wrong material, had a bad knit or fabric, or is just completely the wrong style for her. I keep notes on what she tells me and keep trying to find a sweater that doesn’t violate the things she says but so far I have not been successful. If any of you guys out there know the secret let me know.
