Sometimes, you get a service professional who is just completely incompetent. That happened to me yesterday. I had called a Sacramento moving service in my area to come and give me a quote for how much a move would cost me. I was planning on moving to Bakersfield in a few months, and wanted some quotes in advance. Well, this kids shows up, walks around a bit, and quotes me an unbelievably low number. I was shocked, but I went with it. Well, later when I went to hire them and told them the price I was quoted, they laughed. The kid hadn’t lasted in that job long; he’d been fired a few days after I saw him. But the company was good about it. They actually kept to the kid’s word and helped me move for that incredibly low price. I was surprised but I would definitely use that company again.

My parents are on a fixed income, and their house was starting to show its age last year. They needed the roof repaired, and their bathroom had some issues that needed to be addressed. When my aunt died suddenly, my mother and I had to try and make all of her funeral arrangements by ourselves. She was single, and had no children, so we weren’t sure what she would have wanted. We finally bought our own home and moved in nine months ago. That was the easy part. Agreeing on furniture was surprisingly challenging.
