When I was in college, I was doing a research project with a friend of mine about the state of Illinois. We did not have a narrowed down topic to begin with, so we just started with some really general things like, how long it has been a state, who has been the governor, who were the original inhabitants, etc.. It was not long before I found myself looking up Illinois state death records, and other public records. We were going to be giving the most in-depth look at the state of Illinois that our class had ever seen. It was going to be fun.
The summer before my senior year in high school I got a temporary job working as a receptionist’s assistant for our family doctor. By the end of the summer I was being encouraged to finish high school and then go into a nurses program after graduation.
