Although you can find the great fruit, sea buckthorn, in many parts of the world ranging from Asia to Europe, it is thought that the sea buckthorn plant originated in the Himalayans. There are also some other names that sea buckthorn is known by such as Sea berry, Siberian pineapple, and Alpine Sand thorn.
In the US, the name sea buckthorn seems to have caught on the most. Sea buckthorn is well known throughout many countries in the Asian continent, Europe, etc, for the healing benefits.
The oil from the orange colored berries, sea buckthorn, are particularly great for healing.
