I wish someone had given me this tip when I was first getting started: before you get started with HTML, resist the urge to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy HTML software package and several very expensive, technical and hard to read printed manuals. Here is what I suggest you do: get into a good online website that provides training in the basics of HTML programming. Many of these sites provide content at no cost, or for a very nominal charge. Later on, once you have mastered the basics you will be in a better position to be able to purchase manuals and software to help you to do more complicated programming and website design.
